ABOUT THIS SITE

Hope Walker has been studying the life and works of Netherlandish painter, goldsmith, and jeweler Hans Eworth since 2005, when she was a visiting student at University College London and studied under the supervision of Dr. Diana Dethloff. This website provides a home for her on-going research, as well as a space for collections, private owners, and the interested public to learn more about this important artist, his fellow Netherlanders and their families, and life in Tudor England.

Hope is a specialist in Renaissance art. She has an MA in the History of Art from the American University in Washington DC, with a specialization in Renaissance art (2008), and an MPhil in the History of Art, with a specialization in sixteenth century Netherlandish art, from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London (2015). She lives and works in Spokane, Washington USA, where she is a Senior Instructor at Western Governors University.
