While working on my research, it has often been the case that I have examined--or been asked to examine--other interesting Tudor-era pictures. The Portrait of an Unknown Lady in the Russ Collection is one such portrait. The sitter was for some time thought to be Queen Mary I. In 2010 I expanded the provenance of the picture and explored the question of sitter identity in more detail with this finding.
